We are pleased to announce our planned production of the EMD SD70ACe/ SD70M-2 locomotives in many paint, letter and detail variations.  These models will also be produced in very limited productions and the production size will be based upon pre-order deposits received by June 30, 2011.  Additionally for this special production we are allowing the customer to select the road numbers they would like to have applied to their locomotive.  A-Train Model (formerly Ajin) will produce these locomotives and feature a Pittman can motor, directional lights, a DCC plug and serial number plates.  Please place your order with a $300.00 deposit per unit to make sure you will not miss these great locomotives.

Today we have just uploaded images for the Electro-Motive Division NW-5 Switcher.  The NW-5 locomotive models will cover many Great Northern, Burlington Northern, Fort Street Union Depot (Detroit C&O), Southern Railway, MassCentral, Colorado & Eastern Railway, and Council Bluffs Railway.  Although the locomotives were not used by a large number of railroads they are a popular switchers for switching out passenger trains for the Great Northern, Ft Street Union Depot and Southern Railway.  During this time the units had on board steam generators.  Later the Steam Generators were removed and plated over and used for various freight duties.  These units will be produced by A-Train Model (formerly Ajin) and be produced in very limited productions.  Some variations will have as few as 8-10 units.  You will find a wide number of variations to cover as many detail variants as possible.  We are looking for an image of the SRR NW-5 with exhaust ducts on the roof that can be published if anyone reading this message owns such an image please do contact us.

The final variation of EMD SD70ACe/ SD70M-2 series from the 2010 production is set to arrive in mid-December. Just over 500 locomotives in the SD70ACe/ SD70M-2 have been delivered over the past several months.  A few open reservations remain available for our customers and dealers to reserve.  Three colorful variations remain available in very limited quantities.  Contact your favorite Overland Models Dealer to pre-order.  Product numbers in this grouping are OMI #AA-1316, OMI #AA-1605 and OMI #AA-1607.

The Canadian National SD70M-2 HO scale locomotives have been inspected and models are now on their way to Overland Models dealers that had pre-ordered the units.  By the first of December most models should have arrived at the dealer locations.  Thanks so much to our dealers and customers for their support of this project that has sold out.

The Union Pacific SD70ACe locomotives in standard cab and isolated cab variations have shipped from Korea today…October 18, 2010.  The locomotives will arrive at our location late October 19 and begin shipping to Overland Models Dealers on Thursday October 21, 2010.
After the Union Pacific SD70ACe units we expect deliver the Canadian National SD70M-2 and the Florida East Coast and Rail America/ FEC SD70M-2 HO scale locomotives based on the projected schedule below -

Canadian National SD70M-2 (2 cab style variations) - 3rd week of November

Florida East Coast / Rail America SD70M-2 (3 paint, letter and detail variations) - 1st week of December

BNSF and KCS SD70ACe units in standard and isolated cab variations are completely sold out at Overland Models.

Ajin Train Model has made notice to us that the delivery of BNSF and KCS SD70ACe locomotives should be expected at the end of June.

The BHP SD70ACe units (OMI #AA-1601/ AA-1604/ AA-1608/ AA-1609 locomotives have arrived and shipped to our dealers.

All four versions are completely sold out and no longer available from Overland Models.  A small number of units were shipped back to Korea for minor adjustments and are expected back in just a couple of weeks.

The US Army 3GS21B locomotives arrived back from Ajin Train Model this afternoon.

BHP Billiton SD70ACe Isolated cab locomotives are due to arrive in Muncie in April.  In just a week or two Overland Models will be sending out pick-up notices to our dealers.  As of this point only a couple of reservations are available for the OMI #AA-1601 locomotives which are locomotives built to BNSF specifications and with BNSF orange and silver paint with white BHP lettering.  In this same group are 3 other BHP SD70ACe units with one in the more traditional BHP ‘Bubble’ scheme, OMI #AA-1604.

The image shown below is from Rick Schonfelder. The unit operates only in a trailing position since it does not have any of the BHP modificiations applied to the locomotive.  This locomotive would be perfectly matched with any Overland Models BHP SD70ACe or BHP AC6000CW.  Please note we are taking reservations for BHP AC6000CW locomotives in the as delivered blue scheme and the more recent Bubble scheme.  OMI #AA-1601 BHP #4324, 4327, 4330, 4331.  Only 1 each of road number #4330 and 4331 still available for open reservation.  Total production for OMI #AA-1601 units is 19 units.

The image below shows a completely modified SD70ACe from the former BNSF series.  Here you can see the marker lights, cab window protection, step well protection, additional railing, and fire protection system installed.  With these modifications completed by EDI Rail of Australia the locomotive is now ready for chores in a lead position.  OMI #AA-1609 BHP #4333 only.
